Thanks for bringing this ethnic group to life and bringing me so many memories. Although my upbringing wasn’t quite as strict as yours, it certainly was in my in-laws family with my husband and sister in law. However how blessed we are to be born in such families, it is something our lives has become richer for it!! I’m now 62 so a little older than you but I know only too well of everything you write about.
My girls are now women with their own families are very proud of their Italian heritage (not too much when they were young I can tell you).
